“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
What is the Reconciliation?
Through confession, we acknowledge our shortcomings and open our hearts to God’s mercy. It is a moment of truth, humility, and grace—where burdens are lifted and peace is restored.
Whether it has been weeks or years, the invitation remains: return to the Father who welcomes with open arms.

1
Examination of Conscience
Before confession, take time to reflect honestly on your thoughts, actions, and choices in light of the Gospel.
Confession of Sins
Fifteen minutes before every mass or by appointment with one of our priests, Catholics who wish to reconcile their relationship with God participate in the sacrament of reconciliation.
You meet with a priest, confess your sins sincerely, and express your sorrow. The priest listens with compassion and discretion.

Act of Contrition
You say a short prayer expressing your remorse and desire to turn away from sin. This heartfelt prayer acknowledges your failures and demonstrates genuine sorrow for having offended God. The Act of Contrition includes your firm intention to avoid sin in the future and to live according to God's will.
This prayer serves as your personal commitment to amendment of life and spiritual growth.
Absolution and Penance
The priest grants you absolution in the name of Christ and suggests a penance (a small act of prayer or restitution) to help you grow in grace.
